On August 23rd, I was lucky enough to be able to take pictures at the matchup between the Abington Galloping Ghosts and the Conrad Weiser Scouts. We had a super eventful first half, starting with a touchdown for both teams. The first touchdown was a 15-yard screen pass by the Abington offense. After the PAT was completed by Abington, Conrad Weiser reacted quickly with an 11-yard rushing touchdown of their own. With a PAT, Conrad Weiser ties the score up as the first quarter ends. Once Abington gets the ball back, they are unable to score on this drive. Abington punts the ball to the Scouts as the first quarter comes to a close.

The Scouts start the 2nd quarter with a 1yd rushing touchdown to take a 14-7 lead. Abington gets the ball back, hoping for something big as they reach the Scouts' 49-yard line. Abington's struggle continued as they turned the ball over on downs, only gaining 4 yards in four plays. Conrad Weiser scores with a few good runs, giving the Scouts a two-touchdown lead. Abington gets the ball on their own 29-yard line with 3 minutes left to go in the 2nd quarter. With a 21-yard pass, Abington gains a little momentum. After a little bit of offensive struggle, Abington gets another break through a 28-yard run that puts the Ghosts right in the red zone with under a minute in the half. Abington scores soon after with a pass, closing the gap as the score shows 21-14. Conrad Weiser gets the ball on their 40-yard line, but quickly tries to score before half. The Ghosts get an interception as the first half comes to a close.


As the 2nd half starts, the Scouts start handling business as they march down the field. But they get stuck around the 30-yard line. It's now 4th and 2, the scouts have to make a big play. They made a game-changing play, a 24-yard run that ended in a touchdown. What a way to start the half. They end the 7-minute drive with a touchdown and a 2-point conversion. Scout's leads 29-14. The score keeps piling on the Ghosts. There is no time to think about that because Abington needs a rebuttal. During Abington’s drive, the 3rd quarter ends.
After a string of long passes and runs, they turn over the ball on the Scout's 5-yard line. The Scouts are now in trouble because they want to get away from their endzone. The Scouts can't get a first, so they punt it to their own 32-yard line. After a long pass, Abington gets a moral boost; the Ghosts are now on the Scout's 19-yard line. Abington gets a 19-yard running touchdown. Now, want to make it a 1-score game so they go for the 2-point conversion and convert on it. The Ghosts need a stop as the clock ticks with 3 minutes left and the ball in the Scout's hands. Conrad Weiser turns over the ball on Abington's 29-yard line with under a minute left; they need a miracle. After a long throw, the Ghosts are around the 50-yard line. They aren't quick enough and run out of time. As the Scouts took the first win of the Season, 29-22, the Scouts Win.
